History
Kerala Samajam (R) Bangalore is the first and foremost Socio-Cultural Organization of Keralites in Bangalore. Kerala Samajam was established in the year 1940. There are more than 12 Lakhs Keralites living in Bangalore. As a premier organization of Keralites, we represent the whole Malayalees in Bangalore.
We focus on Education, Health, Art and Culture and other Social Activities. Our activities are as follows:
EDUCATION

Kerala Samajam has contributed in the areas of Education and Social Services. Samajam has been the trend setter in the field of Education in Bangalore by setting a chain of Education Institutions across Bangalore under KNE Trust formed by Kerala Samajam decades ago. Currently we have 11 education institutions in 5 campuses, with 4000+ students and 250+ staff working.

Kerala Samajam is running an IAS Academy for last 7 years. We have 111 selections to Indian Civil Services.

Education Support to nearly 300+ students every year at KNE Trust Institutions

Rs. 1 Crore Education support to poor Students for B Sc Nursing , Bcom , MBA , BE.

Malayalam & Kannada Classes are conducted by Samajam.
HEALTH

We are running TWO ambulance services for last 6 years. We have transported more than 600 dead bodies to Kerala and other states.

Samajam is running 4 dialysis units to provide dialysis to Kidney patients. We have completed more than 7000 dialysis with a nominal cost with the help of Specialist Hospital, Kammanahalli under the leadership of East Zone and at Sree Lakshmi Hospital at KR Puram under KR Puram Zone.

Started another center in association with Santhosh Hospital, Frazer Town to support the Kidney Dialysis Patients.

Financial Support to poor patients

Regularly conducting Medical Camps, Eye Check up Camps, Cancer Detection Camps, Medical awareness programs, Ayurveda Camps etc.

Blood Donation Camps are conducted frequently to support hospitals

Blood Donors club to donate blood during emergency situations.

We are working on to start a Palliative Care – Home Service to support the bed ridden patients.
ART & CULTURE

Kerala Samajam is conducting a Karnataka State Youth Festival for last 7 years to encourage the young talents.

We are organising Onam celebration at all our 9 zones every year.

We do conduct Pookkalam Competition centrally every year

Samajam Ladies wing organises Thiruvathira Competition to encourage the ladies

We do organize Painting competition as part of Children’s Day Celebration.

We do conduct Literary Seminars , Book Release , Seminars on various subjects

We are running two libraries in Bangalore. Malayalam Mission Library is running at our premises.

Kerala Samajam has taken the lead on Malayalam Mission activities in Bangalore for last 4 years and started 48 Malayalam Mission classes in Bangalore.
SOCIAL ACTIVITIES

Samajam was instrumental in developing Banasawadi railway station and started a ticket reservation counter with the help of MP.

Samajam was actively involved in getting Garib Rath Train service from Bangalore to Kochuveli.

Samajam has taken the lead to change the timing of Bangalore Kochuveli Express train to a convenient time which is helpful to the Malayalee commuters.

We do involve in issues connected to Malayalees living in Bangalore. Eg. Tax issues of Kerala Registered vehicles running in Karnataka.

Worked with Kerala Government to get enough KSRTC Buses playing between Bangalore & different places of Kerala.

Flood Relief Work to Support Kerala & Coorg during the recent flood.

Collected 27 Truck loads of essential materials and sent to different parts of Kerala & Coorg and distributed to the flood victims.

Collected materials nearly worth of Rs.1 Crore and reached to the affected people.

Donated Rs.10 Lakhs to CM s distress relief fund, Kerala in 2018.

Donated Rs.3 Lakhs to CM s Relief Fund Natural Calamities , Karnataka in 2019.
